Abstract

Learn the basics of knitting on the Circular Sock Machine (CSM). Just got a machine and not sure how to use it? Come join the class and we will go from set up to changing colors, hang ham, heels, toes and more color changes.

Materials

The following materials for the class are curated to facilitate your learning experience. These supplies are not included and must be purchased separately. The fee for this class is only for the instruction.

Supplies you are required to bring:

  • Please bring a working CSM with its related accessories
  • 2 colors of yarn appropriate for the size of your machine's cylinder
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle
  • Paper & Pen/Pencil for note taking
  • Stand for your machine (Tables provided by the conference center will not work for mounting your machine)
  • Rug or mat to put under your machine to protect the floors of the conference center

When

This class meets for up to 4 hours on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 10:00am-2:30pm CST. Please contact us with any questions about registration.

    Where

    This class is held during the All Fiber Arts Retreat 2024 at the Comfort Suites Rock Garden Green Bay, WI. A conference room is reserved for our use. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in at the reception table and allow yourself time to get situated. Class will begin and end promptly within the agreed upon times with the instructor as scheduled. Please notify us prior to the class if you need any accommodations.

    About the Instructor

    Deb and Pete have been doing CSMs for over 30 years. Pete is the fixer and Deb is the knitter. They live in Forest Lake, MN on 18 acres, enjoying the wild life that hangs around. Other hobbies for Deb are spinning, knitting, crocheting, bobbin lace and many others.

    Attendance & Cancellations

    This class is a group style seminar with a minimum of 2 students to go forward and a maximum of 10 students. A refund will be provided to attendees if notice is sent 2 weeks in advance of the scheduled class. There is no refund or partial refund for the class for missing the session. You may transfer your reservation to another person if your cancellation is within 2 weeks before the start of class. In the unlikely event of inclement weather that would prevent the class from meeting, the class will be extended and rescheduled as determined by the Instructor. Please contact us promptly for any changes required in a reservation.
